Your Pain Management

Why would patients usually come in for treatment?

Patients that come in to see us can’t get their pain under control. Their condition prevents them from functioning or enjoying their lifestyle. Typically, patients come to a pain clinic because conservative therapies fell short, or they didn’t get full relief from surgery. Patients with chronic pain can’t exercise, go to work, or do their activities of daily living. In serious cases, a patient won’t be able to walk or sit without pain.

We treat patients afflicted by:
arthritis, back, neck, or joint pain, headaches, pinched nerves, or musculoskeletal damage.

We see and treat a wide range of causes for chronic pain, such as:

Degenerative Disc Disease
Facet Joint Syndrome
Herniated Discs
Lumbar Radiculopathy (Sciatica)
Post Laminectomy Syndrome
Spinal Stenosis
Spondylolisthesis
Spondylosis

What kind of treatments for pain do you provide?

Anesthesia - Local and moderate sedation

Epidural Steroid Injection - Reduces swelling and inflammation of irritated spinal nerves. A steroid anesthetic medication is injected into the space around the spine.

Joint Injections - Relieves joint pain and long-term inflammation. A soothing mixture of numbing anesthetic and steroid medication is injected into the afflicted joints.

Programmable Pain Pump - Relieves chronic pain and prevents pain signals from being perceived by the brain. An intrathecal pump applies small amounts of medication into the space around the spinal cord.

Trigger Point Injections  - Alleviates pain from spasms in muscle/connective tissue, i.e. trigger points.

Nerve Block - This procedure bathes the nerves with medicine, numbing the affected area and reducing inflammation.

Spinal Cord Stimulation - Electrical impulses relieve chronic pain of the back, arms and legs. Electrodes stimulate the nerves, blocking pain signals.

Radiofrequency Neurotomy - This minimally-invasive procedure uses heat from radio waves to treat painful nerves.  It can treat pain that doesn't respond to medications or to physical therapy. An electrode heats the nerve and disrupts its ability to transmit pain signals.

RACZ Caudal Neurolysis - Relieves low back and leg pain most often caused by scarring from a prior back surgery. A steroid-anesthetics mix is injected, bathing the painful area in medication and dissolving the scar tissue.
